CAUT staff appointments

Christina Muehlberger
Membership Engagement, Organizing & Outreach Officer

Christina holds a master’s degree in political economy from Carleton University and an undergraduate degree in political science from Acadia University. She worked most recently as the graduate campaigns and policy coordinator at the Canadian Federation of Students, and was previously the National Graduate Caucus chairperson. Christina also completed a student work experience placement with CAUT several years ago.

 

 

Louise Birdsell Bauer
Research Officer

Louise is an engaged researcher with a passion for faculty issues. She is skilled in both quantitative and qualitative research methods. She holds a BA and master’s in sociology from Concordia University, and is currently in the final stage of her PhD dissertation at the University of Toronto on the subject of contract acade­mic staff. Drawing on interviews, archival research and ethnographic data, Louise uncovers the ways in which short-term employment contracts and working conditions impact academic professionals’ livelihoods, professional development and integration. Her work has been published in the Labor Studies Journal, the Canadian Review of Sociology and Work, Employment & Society.
