Forum Overview
The purpose of the Forum is to review the services and support offered by CAUT; to discuss the roles and responsibilities of academic staff association presidents and their relationships with their members, executive, and committees; to examine ways of building stronger associations and engaging members; and to build a network among colleagues who are new presidents or presidents-elect of associations.

CAUT will cover the travel cost for an association’s newly elected president or president-elect according to the Policy on the Reimbursement of Participant’s Expenses for CAUT Workshops.
Travel
CAUT’s policy is to use unionized air carriers unless there is no other option available. Members travelling within 300 kilometers of Ottawa are encouraged to use available rail, bus, public transportation, or carpooling options. Air travel should be booked early to take advantage of the lowest fares.
** Travel reservation deadline: May 5, 2024. Please make your travel arrangements as early as possible. CAUT will not be able to cover costs for travel after the deadline.
Reservations must be made directly with CAUT̓s travel agency, Corporate Traveller, by email (carley.simpson@corporatetraveller.ca) or by phone (1-613-236-2444). Corporate Traveller will require the booking code 23503 to make travel reservations and to bill CAUT directly.
Hotel Accommodation
Delegates are required to make their own hotel reservations directly with the Ottawa Hilton Garden Inn Downtown. Hotel reservations can be made online or by contacting the Ottawa Hilton Garden Inn Downtown 613-234-6363 or 1-800-446-6677 and mentioning the "Forum for New Presidents." to obtain the negotiated rate of $225.00/night (Traditional guest room).
