Week of March 2-6
With a newly-elected minority government in Ottawa, 2020 presents a significant opportunity to call for a strong federal partner in post-secondary education.
Meeting with local representatives is an important avenue to garner support and momentum on our priorities. The current House of Commons schedule has a constituency break the week of March 2-6 where Members of Parliament will return to their home ridings to meet with constituents and stakeholders.
CAUT will be coordinating meetings between MPs and associations for this week, and supporting members in their lobbying efforts. With meetings across the country, our collective calls to action to address chronic underfunding in PSE and grow Canada’s research capacity will help provide much needed support in Ottawa to make PSE a priority of the current parliament.
If you are interested in setting up a meeting for association leaders and members with local MPs, please register at: https://registration.caut.ca/index.php?event_id=nwa2020&language=e by February 21, 2020.
Please keep in mind that if you are interested in lobbying federal representatives in support of post-secondary education and research but cannot commit to this constituency week outreach, CAUT will once again be holding a Parliament Hill Day in advance of fall Council, if government is sitting.
