News // Deadline extended for survey of contract academic staff

CAUT is extending the deadline to complete the national survey of contract academic staff to Dec. 15. The survey has been open since the beginning of October and more than 1,400 responses from academic staff at Canadian universities, colleges and polytechnics have been received.

“We decided to extend the deadline for respondents to take the survey to ensure that we are getting as many responses as we can from individuals who taught at least one course in the 2016–2017 academic year at a post-secondary institution,” said CAUT’s director of research and political action, Pam Foster. “This first national survey will shed light on the working experiences of the ever-growing numbers of academic staff who are employed on precarious contracts.”
