Federal Contractors Program

CAUT believes that the employment equity obligations in the Federal Contractors Program must be enforceable.

In order for the Government of Canada to be consistent with principles of employment equity, as well as its declared commitment to the human dignity of all its citizens (Canadian Human Rights Act, Employment Equity Act, and the Department of Justice’s Diversity and Equality Analysis Tools), it must amend the Employment Equity Act to ensure that the Federal Contractors Program is capable of being enforced by a timely and public complaint process.
