Members of the Association des professeur.e.s et des professionnel.le.s de l’Université de Saint-Boniface (APPUSB) voted overwhelmingly to support a strike mandate for their bargaining team.
Ninety-three per cent of the votes were in favour of the strike mandate.
“This landslide vote gives our bargaining team all available tools to reach an agreement,” said APPUSB president Patrick Noël in a statement.
Academic staff have been working in deteriorating conditions and without a collective agreement for nearly three years.
After weeks of mobilization and the successful strike vote, the university “has reached out to APPUSB to solicit a return to the bargaining table.”
