CAUT condemns violent threats against feminists at UofT

The Canadian Association of University Teachers condemns the violent threats posted anonymously on-line targeting feminist professors and students at the University of Toronto.

“These threats against scholars who pursue critically important research challenging gender inequality are extremely disturbing, and must be denounced in the strongest possible terms,” said CAUT executive director David Robinson. “We stand with our member associations, the University of Toronto Faculty Association and CUPE 3902, in urging the University and local authorities to do everything within their power to ensure the safety of all members of the academic community.  We have a responsibility to speak out against all forms of discrimination, including misogyny.”
