UBC faculty vote Non-confidence in Board

Members of the University of British Columbia Faculty Association (UBCFA) have voted overwhelmingly in support of a motion of non-confidence in the institution's Board of Governors.

The vote of non-confidence passed with 62% in favour, and 38% opposed.

Votes of this nature are rarely held at post-secondary institutions in Canada, and are only conducted in cases where senior officials are perceived to have acted contrary to fundamental academic values.
