CAUT Librarians Conference

Negotiating for Parity: Closing the Librarian/Faculty Gap

October 23-25, 2009 – Marriott Hotel, Ottawa

For many academic librarians, academic status remains more myth than reality.  Most still trail their faculty colleagues in salary, control over workload, academic freedom protection, and research and teaching opportunities.

Progress is being made to close this gap. Associations are negotiating single librarian/faculty salary grids and are achieving convergent collective agreement language for librarians and faculty.

At the October 23-25, 2009 CAUT Librarians Conference the theme of negotiating for librarian/faculty parity will be explored through presentations, discussions and workshops.  Please join us at this important event.
