News / Brandon University faculty and administration avert strike

The Brandon University Faculty Association reached a new collective agreement that includes salary increases of 2.5%, 2.75%, 3% and 3% from 2023 to 2027. The deal also includes a lump sum of $1,800 for full-time members and $900 for part-time members.

Members of the faculty association had voted 87% in favour of a strike mandate when negotiations stalled.

The union represents 260 full-time members and 90 contract academic staff. Its key priorities at the bargaining table include academic freedom and fair compensation as well as equity, diversity, inclusion and Indigenization.
