Our member-driven model propels CAUT’s mission to advance the rights and interests of academic staff in Canada. CAUT Council, composed of our member associations, constitutes our supreme governance body.
Council
The CAUT Council is the governing body of CAUT. Our member associations form the Council and decide on policy and organizational priorities. Member associations appoint a delegate to attend Council meetings and vote on behalf of their academic staff association. The decisions and resolutions made at the Council meeting guide the work of the Executive Committee.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee makes decisions between Council meetings. They ensure that Council decisions are acted upon. The CAUT Executive Committee is composed of the following positions:
- President
- Vice-President
- Treasurer
- Past President
- Chair of the Collective Bargaining and Organizing Committee
- Chair of the Librarians’ and Archivists’ Committee
- Two Co-Chairs of the Equity Committee
