The Association of McGill Library Academic Staff (AMLAS) has been certified as a legal trade union by Quebec’s Tribunal administratif du travail to represent academic staff at McGill University’s libraries.
AMLAS is the latest bargaining unit to be recognized at McGill, following successful certification drives by academic staff in the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Education, and the School of Continuing Studies.
CAUT urges the McGill administration to engage in good faith negotiations with the newest union as they seek a first collective agreement.
