The National Union of the Canadian Association of University Teachers (NUCAUT) brings CAUT member associations into the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC). Connecting them to other unions and labour organizations, it helps to build and unify the wider labour movement nationally, provincially and locally.
NUCAUT members promote the interests of academic staff and seek to improve the quality and accessibility of public post-secondary education for all. Joining NUCAUT strengthens our collective ability to work for political, economic and social justice in Canada and internationally.

Membership benefits
Members of NUCAUT can contribute to the work of the Canadian Labour Congress and access CLC services. These include:
- education programs
- conferences
- campaigns
- research
NUCAUT locals can join their provincial federations of labour and local labour councils, allowing them to work in coalition with other unions and allied groups. Provincial federations and local labour councils also offer training and other services, as well as support for job action and lobbying.
