The CAUT Foundation is dedicated to advancing academic excellence, civil liberties and the transformative power of education.

The principles of social justice guide the foundation’s work to support scholars, educators and students. Whether promoting academic freedom, championing equity or providing critical support in times of need, the CAUT Foundation is committed to sustaining the values that make education a catalyst for change.

As the charitable arm of the Canadian Association of University Teachers, the foundation funds initiatives that support research, provide educational opportunities, and explore the history and societal role of academia, research, teaching, and academic expression.

It also recognizes educational achievement through scholarships and awards. Beyond promoting academic excellence, the foundation supports programs that offer crucial assistance to individuals seeking to establish or protect their civil liberties and freedoms, including immigrants and refugees.

The CAUT Foundation, a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency, acknowledges each tax-deductible donation with a tax receipt.

Join us in empowering the voices that seek to make education a pillar of democracy, innovation and a resilient society.
