The 2002 Status of Women Conference is entitled Gender Equity - From Graduate Student to Professor Emerita. It will be held in Montreal Oct. 24-26. Both Ursula Franklin, retired scientist from the University of Toronto and Mary Eberts, legal counsel are scheduled to give keynote addresses. Additionally, Nancy Olivieri (Milner award winner) and Margaret-Ann Armour (Sarah Shorten award winner) have been invited as guest speakers. Several workshops and panels are planned to examine mentoring, the impact of historical disadvantages on women in academia, salary issues, how to create a postive work environment for women, and pension plans.
