Article 16: No Discrimination
16.1 The parties agree that the following are prohibited: discrimination, interference, restriction or coercion exercised or practiced toward any faculty member or librarian with respect to salaries, fringe benefits, pensions, rank, level, appointment, promotion, tenure, continuing appointment, reappointment, dismissal, study/research leave or other leaves, or any other terms and conditions of employment by reason of age (except for retirement), race, creed, colour, ancestry, national origin, religious or political affiliation or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marital status and/or family relationship, place of residence, membership or activity in the Association, membership in any other lawful organization, physical handicap (except where the handicap would clearly prevent the carrying out of the required duties), or any activity pursuant to the principles of academic freedom and responsibilities as set out in Article 15.
