Q: How much are my Association dues?
A: For 2006-2007 our monthly dues are as follows:

| Assistant Professor/Librarian | $58.63 |
| Associate Professor/Librarian | $72.46 |
| Full Professor/Librarian | $82.87 |
Q: What are the dues used for?
A: Approximately 50% of the dues collected are used to pay CAUT and OCUFA. Other areas include UGFA administration (office rental, office staff etc) and legal fees, to name a few.
Q: Must I pay dues?
A: Effective January 1, 2007 dues are required of all bargaining unit members except for those with a religious objection as per the Ontario Labour Relations Act.
Q: Is the UGFA a union?
A: The Faculty, Librarians and Staff Vet recently voted to become a certified union.
Q: What are the benefits of membership?
A:
- As a member of UGFA you are automatically a member of CAUT including the CAUT defence fund, and OCUFA.
- You get input into the direction we should be taking for contract negotiations
- voting privileges at meetings
- receipt of UGFA newsletters (“Negotiator”, “News & Views”, and our most recent “ugFacts”)
- receipt of CAUT Bulletin
- receipt of OCUFA Forum
- access to reduced rates at Goodlife fitness
- access to reduced rates for auto and home insurance
- eligibility for UGFA awards
