LTSB - The Starting and Minimum Salaries

The starting salary paid to new faculty and librarians hired by the University of Guelph should reflect the training, ability and experience required to attain that person’s level of professional competence. The starting salary should also reflect the likely length of the salary-earning academic career relative to that of other professionals, and should be comparable to the starting salaries of individuals with essentially the same qualifications who enter employment in the public sector or other Universities.
In all cases the starting salary places the faculty member on the time and performance salary grid at a step equal to that salary’s dollar value.

The minimum salary for an Assistant Professor is equal to the Salary Base. The minimum salary for an Associate Professor is equal to 1.32SB and the minimum salary for a Professor is equal to 1.65SB
