Salary Committee (Sal)

Jurisdiction

The Salary Committee is an internal Faculty Association Committee which is responsible for annual or bi-annual salary negotiations. A team of negotiators is selected from the committee. The Chair sits on the Pension & Benefits Committee, Executive and Council.

Responsibilities

The Standing Committee on Salary prepares the salary negotiating brief and presents it to membership for their approval. The Committee may may interim reports to and seek advice from the Executive Committee or Council.

Salary and Benefits for facuty/librarians are negotiated annually or bi-annually in accordance with Article 24 of the Special Plan Agreement.

Membership

The seven regular members of the Salary Committee are appointed by Council from those nominated by the Chair. There shall be one member from each College and the Library. Membership is for one year term with possible reappointments. The Committee may, at its discretion, co-opt alternate or additional members from the membership of the Association.
