Faculty Association Committees

Standing Committees

The Faculty Association has five (5) Standing Committees. The Chairs of the Standing Committees shall be elected by the membership for a term of two (2) years and shall be eligible for re-election. In the temporary absence of the Chair of a Standing Committee, a Chair pro tem shall be elected by and from the membership of the Committee. Should the Chair of a Standing Committee be unable to complete the term of office, a by-election shall be held for the position of Chair of said Committee for the remainder of the term. No person shall hold an office for more than five (5) consecutive years and no more than two (2) positions within any given year.

Standing Committee Chairs report to Executive, Counciland the General Membership.

The four (4) Standing Committees are:

  1. Academic Freedom Committee
  2. Health & Safety Committee (H&S)
  3. Pension & Benefits Committee (P&B)
  4. Salary Committee (Sal)

Joint Association/Administration Committees

The Grievance Board, Joint Consultative Committee and Joint Faculty Policies Committees are committees which have been established under the Special Plan Agreement. The Grievance board and the Joint Consultative committee remain in effect until a Collective Agreement is negotiated.
