The plenary panel discussion will begin at 2:30 p.m. on April 23, 2009 in the
CAUT’s Council meeting, held twice a year, brings together over 100 representatives of academic staff associations from across Canada.
CAUT has been at the forefront of efforts to convince the government to safeguard the integrity of academic research in Canada by increasing basic research funding to the granting councils and ensuring that programs and scholarships funded by the granting agencies, are judged on the basis of merit by the scientific community instead of being restricted to specific fields by the government.
