Mercury

It has been mined since at least the time of the Romans. Common sites of potential exposure to mercury in campus worksites are typically in laboratory and in older healthcare equipment. Check your workplace devices for mercury, and seek assistance from your JHSC for a safer substitute.

Electromagnetic fields (EMF’s) are a serious health and safety threat in the workplace, in the home and in communities, because they have unintended side effects on human and animal health. We still have much to learn about EMF’s but a precautionary approach should be taken.
