Academic Librarians' Distinguished Service Award
Background
The CAUT Academic Librarians' Distinguished Service Award was established in 1994 in order to recognize outstanding contributions by academic librarians or other academic staff to the advancement of the status and/or working conditions of academic librarians at Canadian universities and colleges.The Criteria
The criteria used by the Librarians Committee for its nomination to CAUT Council:Candidates may be either current or former academic librarians or other academic staff.
Candidates will be assessed on the significance of their contributions to the advancement of the status and/or working conditions of academic librarians at either the local, regional or national level.
The number and frequency of awards will be as the Librarians Committee and CAUT Council deem appropriate.
Recommendations
Academic staff associations or any other interested parties or individuals are invited to submit recommendations for the Academic Librarians' Distinguished Service Award.Recommendations should include the following:
- a letter giving a detailed statement describing specifically the distinguished contributions and achievements of the candidate as they relate to the advancement of the status and/or working conditions of academic librarians at Canadian universities and colleges;
- a full curriculum vitae; and
- letters of support.
