| CAUT withdraws consideration of censure of McGill University |

- The Canadian Association of University Teachers has withdrawn consideration of censure of McGill University at its semi-annual governing Council meeting this past weekend. “The decision was taken following a CAUT review of what steps have been taken by the McGill administration to address the series of concerns raised by McGill’s academic librarians over the last six years,” said James L. Turk, executive director of CAUT. Turk said CAUT Council was pleased with the administration’s actions to resolve the matters at issue. “It has not been an easy process,” Turk said. “But McGill’s academic librarians have been resolute in insisting on solutions and, with the good will of the university’s senior administration and senior library officials, appropriate solutions have been found.” |
