Carleton academic staff unanimously pass motion of no confidence in BOG

At its April 11 meeting, academic staff at Carleton voted unanimously that they have no confidence in the university’s Board of Governors and senior administration following a series of actions they say undermine good governance.

Over the past year, the Carleton BOG has approved policies that concentrate decision-making power to the Executive Committee, stifle contributions of elected Board members, and restrict communications to the broader community. A new set of Bylaws, adopted in March despite widespread opposition by academic staff and students, formalized many of these contested practices.
