Forum for Chief Negotiators 2013
Winning Good Contracts in a Difficult Environment addresses the need to
maintain our own agenda to improve conditions for academic staff and students, regardless
of opposing pressures. The workshop will address how academic staff associations
can achieve improvements even in this difficult time.
The Chief Negotiators’ Forum focuses on how to maintain and improve members’ rights
in the face of employer and government resistance. We will consider how to develop
tools to remain strong at the table by engaging our members in the process of bargaining
for the association.
In these times negotiators find themselves in the tough position of maintaining
a line at the table that defends hard-won rights and also continues to make gains.
Significant gains are in fact possible in these circumstances.
