DATES TO REMEMBER

The following are some important dates to keep in mind as quoted from The Tenth Collective Agreement:

 

¨      December 31

 

The URC shall complete its work. . . [tenure/combined tenure and promotion to associate professor] no later than 31 December. . . [Art. 12.41(b)]

 

The qualifications for promotion to assistant professor shall be possession of an earned doctorate or its equivalent. . . according to whether all degree requirements are successfully completed before or after 31 December . . . shall become effective either the previous 1 July or the following 1 July. [Art. 12.93]

 

The Employee shall be notified of the President's decision [whether or not leave of absence should be granted] 31 December. . . [Art. 24.71]

 

Applications for professional development must be made by the Instructor through the Head to the Dean.  Normally, applications should be received by 31 December.  [Art. 25.12(c)]

 

Employees shall be notified by 31 December whether or not [sabbatical] leave is to be granted. . . [Art. 24.20]

 

An application [requesting a half-time appointment] by a full-time tenured or probationary professor must be made to the President. . . by 31 December [Art. 10.11].

 

An application [requesting a half-time appointment] by a full-time Librarian with a continuing or probationary appointment must be made to the President. . . by 31 December [Art. 50.11]

 

¨      Within Two Weeks of Course Commencement

 

The Head or Director. . . shall be provided with copies of such information [methods of instruction and evaluation in teaching faculty courses], within two weeks of the commencement of the course. . . [Art. 5.31A(i)]

 

¨      February 1

 

   The Employee shall . . . accept or reject any offer [reconsideration of leave of absence] by 1 February [Art. 24.71]

 

There will be two deadlines per year for the receipt of applications [research funds]. . .  1 February [Art. 25.55(d)(ii)]

 

Employees shall . . . confirm acceptance of an offered leave by 1 February [Art. 24.20]
