DATES TO REMEMBER

The following are some important dates to keep in mind as quoted from The Eleventh Collective Agreement:

 

¨      October 31

 

An Instructor on a probationary appointment shall be reviewed by his/her Department by 31 October of the final year of the appointment [Art. 43.41(a)].

 

Decisions [research monies for October 1 applications] will be announced by 31 October. . . [Art. 25.55(d)]

 

¨      November 1

 

The DRC shall . . . make recommendations to the URC [for renewal applications]. . . no later than 1 November. . . [Art. 12.21(a)]

 

¨      November 15

 

The DRC shall. . . make recommendations to the URC [for tenure/combined tenure and promotion to  Associate Professor]. . . no later than 15 November. . . [Art. 12.21(b)]

 

The URC shall complete its work. . . [renewal] no later than 15 November. . . [Art. 12.41(a)]

 

The Library Review Committee shall. . . make recommendations to the URC [continuing appointment] no later than 15 November. . . [Art. 51.21(a)]

 

¨      November 30

 

The Employee. .  . must  confirm in  writing

   . . .their acceptance of the retirement enhancement agreement by 30 November in the year preceding the 1 July on which retirement is to take effect. [Art. 38.20(b)]

 

The type of replacement appointment [where there is retirement enhancement] will be agreed upon by the Head, Dean or University Librarian and Vice-President (Academic) by 30 November. . . [Art. 38.11]

 

¨      December 1

 

The DRC shall. . . make recommendations to the URC [for promotion]. . . no later than 1 December. . . [Art. 12.21(c)]

 

The Library Review Committee shall. . . make recommendations to the URC [for promotion] no later than 1 December . . . [Art. 51.21(b)]

 

The Employee shall submit his or her application [leave of absence] to the Dean or University Librarian, with a copy to the Head by 1 December . . . [Art. 24.71]

 

The [Intellectual Property] Committee shall complete its work and report to the Parties on or before December 1, 2004.  [Letter of Understanding #1]

 

¨      Three weeks following grade submissions

 

The Head/Director/Dean shall review the [course] evaluations and return a copy of the Summary Data Sheet and the unit's Summary Data Sheet to the Employee within three weeks following submission of grades for the course. [Art. 15.55]

 

¨      December 15

 

The President shall communicate the Board's decision on renewal of appointment. . . no later than 15 December. . . [Art. 12.75(a)]
