CONGRATULATIONS
AND BEST WISHES TO
TAMMY
READING AND KAYSI FAGAN IN LAS VEGAS!
As many of you may already know from local news coverage, Tammy Reading from Food Services and Acadia student Kaysi Fagan are part of a local women’s firefighting team heading off to Las Vegas to compete in the World Championship Firefighting Combat Challenge held November 9-14th, thanks to their 2nd place finish in a national competition held in Sherbrooke, Quebec this September. Each member of the team has an assigned task: Tammy is in charge of the “Kaizer Machine” by which the team gains “forceful entry” to the fire; Kaysi is the team’s “stairclimber”. The team is practicing almost daily and we want to wish them the best of luck –and lots of fun in the competition. In Las Vegas, winning is always a gamble, but for Tammy and Kaysi and the rest of their firefighting team, a trip to the world championship means they can’t lose!
