UNIVERSITY
CLUB NEWS
Fall has arrived; however, the leaves aren’t
the only things changing. There have
been changes at the University Club as well, and I would like to update you on
some of them.
First of all, the Club has a new executive for
the year. Jill Hiscock is the new
President; Rene Murphy is the Vice President; and Paul Stephenson is Past
President. Darren Kruisselbrink
is returning as the Club Secretary; Joan Masterson is the Treasurer; Paul
Hobson is the Chair of the House Committee; and Sonya Symons is Social Events
Coordinator this year. We are also extremely pleased to announce that Mary
MacLean has re-joined us as the house manager.
Mary was the manager a few years ago and some of you will certainly
remember her. Additionally, we are
fortunate to have Jean Cavanagh as our new
bookkeeper.
We have also made a few changes to the items in
the bar. Recently, we have added Stella Artois to the fridge and changed our house red. So come in and try a glass.
The traditional Friday get-togethers, better
known as TGIFs, are also back in full swing at the
Club. We have a few special events
scheduled in the near future, namely an Oktoberfest celebration on October 17th,
complete with BBQ and entertainment.
Break out your lederhosen and join us for this great Fall
tradition! Watch for Darren’s emails
about Club events going on throughout the Fall and mark them in your calendar.
Please feel free to come by and check out the
Club. It is a great opportunity to meet
other people on campus or just relax in a friendly atmosphere. You can find us
in the little blue building located behind Huggins. New members are always welcome.
