UNIVERSITY
CLUB HAPPENINGS
Greetings from the club,
The University Club has celebrated another successful year. This past term saw us enjoy the culinary delicacies of Thailand and the naked joy of our annual St. Paddy’s day bash. And, as always, there was the fun of TGIF. We wrapped up the year with our AGM on May 24th. Among other things, we elected a new executive to take us into another exciting year.
Ahh, but summer beckons and the Club like most of the University slows down a little. But our doors our still open and we’ll be stocking up on the G and T for those hot summer afternoons. During the summer Allison will be making her annual trek to the Swiss Alps, so we brought in summer student help in the cheerful form of Sarah Morse.
This summer is also a summer of negotiations. The University Club invites both negotiating teams and their supporters to the Club to relax after a tough day of bargaining. We ask that everyone remember that the Club belongs to the entire University and that everyone should be made welcome. So please keep the negotiations restricted to who’s getting the next round.
The summer also marks the end of my term as UClub President. I leave you with a little poem inspired by a Geisel novella I was reading the other day.
I belong to a club,
A club with a Fuiszelzub.
A Fuiszelzub who runs the pub,
Brings out the grub,
Gives the bar a scrub.
She makes the club,
the University’s hub.
Don’t you wish you belonged to a scrubbed hub club pub
with a Fuiszelzub?
