I have been employed by the Acadia University Faculty
Association since July 1994 as Union Officer.
I'm primarily
responsible for the smooth operation of the office that serves as the focal
point of contact for the Union. Some of my responsibilities include: responding to queries, setting up and
attending meetings and sitting on the AUFA Communicator Committee,
and many more administrative duties.
I am a member of
the Canadian
Organization of Faculty Association Staff.

In a nutshell. . .
.
I grew up in Waverley,
Nova Scotia and have spent most of my adult life living in the beautiful
Annapolis Valley.
Before coming to
work for the AUFA I was employed for two years at a law firm in Halifax and
worked one year at Dalhousie University. I had worked in the academic sector at
Acadia for almost ten years prior to my return in ’94.
I have a weakness
for auctions--especially if there are antiques involved. Although rare, I have
been known, on occasion, to walk away empty-handed (thanks in part to my better
half too).
Here’s a picture of
my four-legged “children.”
I also love to
travel and would spend all my spare time doing so, given the means. My most recent adventure took me to Winter
Carnival in Quebec City. A great place
to visit, but very chilly in February!
