Denial of Academic Appointment on the Basis of Family Relationship

CAUT Policy Statement

Historically, many Canadian post-secondary institutions have had regulations, contracts or unwritten conventions which bar the hiring as academic staff of one member of a family if another has employment with the institution. CAUT is opposed to such regulations and conventions and recommends that those in existence be abolished.
